Tantra @ The Park Hotel.
We’re spending five days in Kolkata, where we first met and where my life started changing forever.
It’s a very strange experience being back here. The place is still the same but so much has changed now. People have moved on, we’ve moved on. The same familiar faces aren’t seen out at the same familiar places anymore.
Kolkata was an incredible episode when we were living there, but its impossible to recreate those memories. They’re a thing of the past now, to be cherished and reminisced about.
We hung out with friends, went out to a new bar called Soho, went to the dhaba on the way home, danced drunkenly to bhangra at three in the morning, and of course spent time at the Park Hotel.
My sweetheart played the closing psychedelic set at Tantra, just like old times.
I couldn’t help feeling a bit empty and lonely without all my friends there to share it with though. A bunch of girls from all over the world, we were all thrown together. The strangeness of our environment made us close and instantly gave us all something in common. Just thinking of all the crazy times we had makes me miss them so much.
Kolkata isn’t Kolkata for me without them.
