HyperCity exterior, Link Road, Malad.
Flour anyone?
I discovered HyperCity in Malad today.
It’s India’s largest hypermarket and really is something to get hyper about. The place is a HUGE 120,000 square foot, two level store, selling everything from food to furniture. There’s even a proper meat section, with sanitized properly packaged chicken. No live chickens anywhere in sight, I’m happy to say!
With 32 cash registers and apparently almost 40,000 product lines, it’s much more impressive than anything I’ve ever come across back home in Australia.
To put it in perspective, it’s got whole aisles devoted to different types of flour, rice, spices, and lentils. There’s also half an aisle devoted to toothbrushes.
I think I’ll be doing most of my shopping there in the future (and yes, it does have pumpkin!).
HyperCity is open daily from 10 am til 10 pm, right next to InOrbit Mall, Link Road, Malad.

I’ve been reading your blog I found out in Expats site…Quite interesting by the way…We are expats here in Bharuch, Gujarat…after reading this post about HyperCity I was just wondering if you can get Parmesan Cheese in there? We often travel to Mumbai specially for holidays and I have been in Orbit Mall…probably weird question…but believe me here in Bharuch is hard to get imported goods…regards and take care!

I’m sure you’ll be able to get Parmesan Cheese there. I haven’t specifically looked for it myself (I really don’t like the smell of it! 
) but I know Hypercity has a substantial dedicated imported cheese section with wide variety of cheeses. There’s no way they couldn’t stock Parmesan!
Yes Hypercity does have Parmesan cheese!!!
