How to Get Rid of Cockroaches

Post image for How to Get Rid of Cockroaches

Having grown up in country Australia, I’m not too bothered by insects and spiders. Therefore, seeing a few cockroaches in our kitchen here wasn’t really any cause for alarm. That was until I got up during the night recently, to get a drink.

There were cockroaches everywhere! All shapes and sizes. Running all over the floor, the kitchen bench, in the cupboards, and on the utensils. The darkness had brought them out of their hiding places, and they were ready to have fun.

I had to face the unpleasant fact that, as well as being under siege by mosquitoes, we had a cockroach infestation!

Before they could get away, I grabbed the insect spray and went on a rampage, killing every cockroach in sight. Then, I had to deal with the disgusting task of cleaning up the bodies.

I mentioned the situation to my husband and he told me about some chalk that it’s possible to buy. Apparently, if you draw a line with this chalk, the cockroaches won’t cross it. I laughed in disbelief. But, while doing the grocery shopping today, I accidentally came across such chalk.

Krazy Lines Plus, in an International Pack!

My curiosity got the better of me, and I bought it. So, tonight, it looks like I’m going to be an artist, with my kitchen as the canvas. I don’t know if it will work to keep the cockroaches away, but it’s worth a try. If anyone has any other solutions for getting rid of cockroaches, which doesn’t involved them dying somewhere in the depths of my cupboards, please do tell me.

Yeah, that’s the worst thing, always having to dispose of the bodies! Ugh. Fortunately, the gel that the pest control people applied seems to be working really well so far to keep most of them away!

Ah…those things…Oh yeah…hahahaha….

A late discovery by Sharell though…I dont blame her…..

But I have being seeing those things(Krazy Lines) since my childhood days…..

but you know, the only problem is that they cause the house to look very untidy.
Because you have these lines drawn everywhere that make the whole place look bad…Plus if you happen to touch these lines by chance, you have to wash them again…..

I prefer the Anti-Cockroach spray….Easy to use, Easy to kill……

And as for disposong off the bodies, I’m afaid Sharell, thats something you’ll have to live with…or else have it done by your domestic help. ;)

I hate roaches..they’re BAD…really really BAD.

A late discovery by Sharell though…

As for other late discoveries, Sharell has just discovered why the line is called Laxman Rekhaa. ;-) Thank you to my landlady for that interesting story!

Yes, there’s even a famous Mexican folk song called la cucaracha. ;-) Apparently, it’s to Mexico like Yankee Doodle Dandy is to America!

You should just use a Annual Pest control service – try PCI (the best, in my opinion). They have this gel thing that is odour-less and very very effective. The first service might bring out some dead bodies, yes, but they visit every 4 months and you never have to worry about insects at all!

I haave the problem in West Palm Beach FL. I live on the water 25 floors up and I went into my kitchen at night for water and they were everywhere! I couldnt find how they were coming in until I realized it was the drain. So I blocked the drain and poured bleach down it at night which works. But now the sneaky things are coming into the dishwasher through that drain.
